I’ve always had puny lashes. They’re stick straight and grow downwards. And my hooded eyes don’t help the situation at all. I’ve tried eyelash extensions and while I loved the look, I did not like the cost or the maintenance of them. It was also time-consuming to go get them filled. I had to be extra careful washing my face. Sometimes you just want to give your face a good rubbing and not have to worry if your extensions will come loose.
I was recently getting my eyebrows tinted when I noticed the owner’s beautiful long lashes. They offer eyelash extensions too so I just assumed hers were extension because they were so full, long and fluttery. To my surprise, she said they were her own lashes and that she uses the GrandeLASH-MD Lash Enhancing Serum.
Maybe it’s because of the name, but I thought this was an Ariana Grande product at first, so I was very skeptical. Actually, it has had nothing to do with the singer. After I got home, I did some research and found that the majority of the reviews were positive. So, the next day with much excitement, I went to Sephora and purchased it
I started the application immediately that evening. Like most people, I probably had unrealistic expectations because I wanted immediate results. I’m not a patient woman! I was looking at my lashes daily and trying to convince myself that there was some growth. I even asked my daughters if they noticed a difference. Eventually, they got really got tired of me asking constantly.
Even though some reviewers had noticed volume and length in 4-6 weeks, I didn’t actually see any noticeable length until 2 months in. Because the tips of my lashes are very light in color, I didn’t know how dramatic my lashes were becoming until I curled and applied mascara. Wow! What a difference in length! Above were photos taken at different stages using Shiseido Eyelash Curler and Glossier Lash Slick.
My second daughter criticized that my lashes look fake and that I look like a doll. It was probably an insult on her part, but that was actually the best compliment I received.
If you do try it, let me know how it works for you. With any lash growth serum, be patient and use it for the full 3 months. I’m on month 3 and will be shifting to maintenance mode soon. A 12-week supply is $65, but I found that a bottle can actually last 5-6 months depending on how heavy-handed you are with the application. You should only use a very light stroke on the upper lash line.
I did experience some irritation around my lash line for about a week. My eyes also felt a bit dry and gritty, but it eventually went away. Everyone reacts differently to it, so I would say purchase it from someplace reputable like Sephora where you can always return it if it doesn’t work out for you. Also, I noticed that where the liquid would sometimes gather, I had light hair growth (barely noticeable) where the serum might have come into contact with my cheeks.
This truly requires consistency and patience. Although my lashes are longer now, I still need to use an eyelash curler and apply mascara in order for it to really pop. So, unless you were blessed with super dark lashes that are curled, you’ll still need mascara and an eyelash curler to see the dramatic results you are looking for.
